Red Hawk girls golfers open season at home

Fall sports are officially underway in Trempealeau County, and the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School girls golf team kicked off the 2023 season with a home field advantage.
The Red Hawks hosted its annual Trempealeau Mountain Invitational last Tuesday, a nine-team event to welcome back golfers.
A strong field of golfers was led by Westby sophomore Maddi Fletcher, whose 80 led all players at the par-71 golf course.
She edged Tomah sophomore Karma Hasselberger, who shot an 81.
Senior Alexis Murphy led the way for the Red Hawks, shooting a 101 to place 14th.
Jada Schmitt had the next best finish for the hosts, taking 31st with a 118. Other scorers for G-E-T included Anna Motszko (132), Chloe Applin (138) and Claire Wagner (138).
Madison Schmidt, a G-E-T girls golf alumna, is in her first year coaching the Red Hawks.
