Red Hawk Post 354 wins two in week of seven games

Another week went by, and the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Post 354 legion baseball team spent it much like they have all summer—with plenty of baseball.
Post 354 (11-9 this summer) won two games last week amid a schedule that saw six games, including a weekend tournament in Onalaska.
Post 354 will stay ready for more baseball in the second week of July, as a visit to Tomah awaited the team this Monday before another road trip to Sparta is on the calendar for Thursday.
West Salem 5 G-E-T 1
A 1-1 tie through one inning of play was as close as the Red Hawks would get in last Monday’s matchup against West Salem’s 19U team.
The Red Hawks got their lone run from Calvin Davis, who led the home team with two hits.
Myles Marley started for Post 354, allowing four earned runs and five hits while tossing seven strikeouts and a walk.
G-E-T 6 Arcadia 2
A big first inning made way for a Red Hawks win over another county baseball team last Thursday.
The home team built a 6-0 lead through two innings and only conceded two runs late in the game against Post 17. Each side finished with four hits, but a handful of errors by Arcadia helped Post 354 along the way.
Owen Eddy led Post 354 with two hits, and Collin Handke hit a double. Thomas Haney got the win on the mound.
Arcadia got doubles from Max Sobbotta and Vince Braun, while Carson Martin and Connor Weltzien split pitching duties.
G-E-T 8 Onalaska 17U 0
The bats were busy for the Red Hawks in their tournament game against Onalaska’s youngest team on Saturday—Post 354 out-hit the home team 8-2.
Three different players finished with two hits for the Red Hawks, including Warren Stoner, Handke and Haney.
Rochester 18U 12 G-E-T 6
A different hawk took home the win over G-E-T in another tournament game on Sunday despite Post 354 racking up seven hits.
The teams were tied 6-6 through four innings, but a seventh inning push from the visitors led to a loss for Post 354.
Eddy led G-E-T in hits with two, and Marley and Stoner combined to allow 10 hits while striking out six from the pitchers’ circle.
West Salem 8 Post 354 6
Chipping away at an early hole, a comeback effort fell short for Post 354 in their tournament finale on Sunday.
West Salem took an 8-3 lead through three innings, but G-E-T scored three unanswered runs in the fifth.
West Salem had seven hits to the Red Hawks’ three—Stoner had a team best two RBI. Chris Calico led all players in the game with three hits, and Koen Rolling had two for the Panthers.
