Red Hawks qualify for postseason with win over Arcadia

Kyle Seiling has been one of the most productive players in the Coulee Conference this season when it comes to running the football.
The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau junior would probably trade every touchdown he had scored prior to this weekend if it meant keeping his stat line from Friday. Seiling scored three times in the first half against county rival Arcadia — including a 54-yard scamper and the follow-up punch-in for the opening score as well as a touchdown run with a minute left in the half — to help G-E-T beat Arcadia 42-0, a win that clinched his team its second straight trip to the playoffs.
The Red Hawks (4-5 overall, 4-3 Coulee) held Arcadia to 74 total yards and three first downs in Friday’s game at G-E-T High School, and Seiling finished the game with 226 yards and three touchdowns.
Seiling wasn’t alone with his production on offense in a game that teammate Kolby Lewis had 91 yards on the ground and G-E-T finished with 347 rushing yards as a team.
Seiling scored all three touchdowns in the first half and was joined in the end zone by teammate Taylor Haney’s four-yard score in the second quarter.
Matt Halverson scored on a two-yard run in the third quarter and Lewis closed the scoring with a 51-yard run in the fourth.
Arcadia’s Logan Breska led the visitors with 20 rushing yards, and Maverick Drazkowski had a pair of catches for five yards. Ted Teske was busy on defense, finishing with 15 tackles, including 10 solo.
After winning its first two games, Arcadia ends the year 2-7 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
For G-E-T coach Paul Anderson and the sixth-seeded Red Hawks, their attention now turns to Stanley-Boyd (7-2 this season) for a Division Five playoff game against the third-seeded Orioles.
