River Valley volleyball stops Raiders in regional

The 11th-seeded Arcadia Raiders fell to the sixth-seeded River Valley volleyball squad in a regional semifinal last Tuesday.

Tuesday’s loss in three sets brings the Raiders’ season to a close. Arcadia (11-13 overall this season) improved on a 2022 run that finished with a 6-21 record. The Raiders finished third in the Coulee Conference this season with a 7-4 run to place behind only West Salem and Westby.

The hosts took a one-set advantage to open Tuesday’s match in convincing fashion, winning 25-12.

Arcadia put up a fight in the second set but were edged by eight points before losing in another tighter contest in set three.

Different players led Arcadia in nearly every statistical category—senior Casidi Pehler contributed eight kills, and teammate Adella Anderson led the Raiders in assists with 10.

Sammy Berg paced Arcadia with eight digs, Tatum Drazkowski brought four blocks and Justine Sonsalla led the way in aces with three.
